I am generally more of a fan of milk or decadent dark chocolate, but I had the chance to review Perugina’s Baci White Chocolate and I can now say that I am a fan of white chocolate. Anytime of think of white chocolate I think of the Hershey’s cookie and creams bars. I don’t know if that is white chocolate or not but that was what I always used to think of before I tried Baci.
Baci White has whipped chocolate filling blended with finely chopped hazelnuts. On the top is a whole hazelnut and the whole thing is covered in white chocolate. I didn’t know that white chocolate was made with a higher percentage of cocoa butter than milk and dark chocolate has, but that is true.
Baci was created by Luisa Spagnoli in 1922. She wanted to create a different type of confection that was as special as her love for her amour. Baci means ‘kisses’ in Italian. It has been around for 90 years and is still a delicious treat.
