If you are one of the millions of people who want to shape up this year, the best way to do so is to make it easy. One way to make things easy for yourself is to start a realistic meal plan. Starting January 5, you can do just that. You can participate in the 30-Day Realistic Challenge on SparkPeople.com or use the app available on iTunes or Google Play.

Another way to make eating healthier easier is to get products that take very little time to prepare. Gorton’s has some great products that make it easy to eat healthy. Just pop them in the oven and you are on your way to a healthy meal.

my favorite: the tilapia

I really like the Simply Bake products from Gorton’s. We have tried both the tilapia and salmon. They are so easy to prepare! The products come in a bag and you simply put them on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven. They are excellent with a baked potato and your favorite veggie. We have purchased these products even when we don’t have coupons because they are so easy to prepare (pssst! Here’s a coupon for Gorton’s products here).

I am not a huge fan of fish. I never liked it growing up. The only fish I used to like was tuna fish…not tuna steaks, tuna fish. The kind mixed up deliciously with mayo, mustard, eggs, and relish. I still love that stuff. However, as an adult I have branched out a bit. I don’t just eat tuna fish. I started out eating fried catfish. Then, my husband’s doctor told him how important it is to eat fish in our diet so we started eating salmon. Our grocery stores don’t really have fresh salmon. Well, not reliably anyway. If you suddenly have a craving for salmon in our town, it will probably have to be frozen because they may not even have fresh available.

If it is the same way for you, you can try Gorton’s. They have a line of gluten free, low fat entrees. They are the Grilled Fillets. The most awesome thing about these is that they are 100 calories or less. I will definitely use some of my freebie coupons to try the grilled tilapia…and maybe the haddock too. I’ve never had that. If you are not sure if you are a fan of fish, you should try tilapia. That is my favorite because it is so mild and doesn’t have the fishy taste that turns some people (ME!ME!ME!) off of fish. Why not try to win some coupons to try it for yourself?? Well, I have a prize pack to give away. Here’s what’s in it:

Are you like many people who have trouble remembering things? I sometimes feel like I’m in a brain fog. I can think of many times when I have that foggy brain feeling: when I’ve not had enough sleep, when I’m frustrated or stressed, or just when I am trying to remember something that I know I should remember but wasn’t giving my full attention to. I question whether my memory loss is normal. It’s like my brain just does not want to hold on to information that it feels is extraneous. Sometimes the info deemed extraneous turns out to be needed after all, though, and there’s the rub.

What do you do when you have memory problems? Now let me preface all of this by saying that I am not a doctor and can’t offer you medical advice. I’ve done research on the topic of ways to improve memory loss and concentration for myself, and I’m just passing on what I found out.

One thing research says we should do is get more sleep. It’s not surprise that many of us aren’t sleeping enough. We have busy lives. Now more than ever, we are plugged in nonstop with our laptops, tablets, cell phones, and even televisions. It’s hard to turn off our electronic devices to get the boring old sleep that we really need. Am I right? It’s been stated for years that adults need 8 hours of sleep. Are you getting at least that? Nope. Didn’t think so.

Another thing we can try doing when we notice that we are having memory problems is try to clean up our diets. Eating the recommended amounts of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is not only good for our body, but also for our mind.

We should also make sure to get enough to drink. Dehydration can lead to memory loss and confusion. We should all do our best to put down the soda and pick up a bottle (or 4) of water. You might notice other positives from drinking more water such as an improved appearance of our skin. It’s worth a shot!

Another thing that might cause memory loss and a lack of concentration is being depressed. Depression can make it difficult for an individual to focus on their everyday tasks. Sometimes, people are hesitant to get help for depression because they feel there is a certain stigma attached to doing so. I suffer from anxiety, myself. I have had to receive help for it because it effects my life. I have found that it helps me to receive treatment for my anxiety. I can find ways of dealing with my anxiety more appropriately, and I don’t have the overwhelming sense of feeling like everything is bearing down on me.

Another option for helping with memory loss is to take a brain health supplement. I got the chance to review one called Excelerol. It bills itself as the world’s #1 brain health supplement. Excelerol is full of ingredients that support brain health. If your brain is anything like mine, it can use all the support it can possibly get.

It might be that Excelerol is a product that would benefit you. Once you take Excelerol, the effects can last up to six hours. That means that if you know you will have a need for increased concentration and memory, you can take the product to help you get that extra boost of focus. The product is vegetarian, and nonprescription. There are a lot of good reviews for the product on Amazon, so they must be doing something right. You can check some of them out or you can get more information about Excelerol and purchase some for yourself, here.

Do you suffer from memory loss and lack of concentration? What have you done that has been successful? I’d love to read any tips you have to offer!

Purex Crystals Aromatherapy

It’s time for another Purex post! This time, I got to sample Purex Crystals Aromatherapy. The fragrance I got to try was Energy. That’s the one with the picture of the orange. I’m not exactly sure how to explain this, but it SMELLS the way ENERGY feels. Weird, I know. Let me try another way of saying it. In my opinion, if I were blindfolded and given this to smell and asked to associate a word with it, energy would come to mind immediately. So yeah. There’s that.

I absolutely hate doing laundry. You have to sort your clothes. Wash them. Listen for the bell from the washer to announce they are done. Dry them. Listen for the bell to announce that they are done so your clothes don’t get wrinkled (cause there ain’t no ironin’ in this house unless it’s a special occasion). Fold. Put away. And that’s just for ONE load. You have to actually repeat that process over, and over, and over again. Gag me!

At the very least, I want my clothes to smell good. We are a Purex household. I do get free product coupons, but the price of Purex is also affordable compared to what you would pay for other laundry brands. Right now I am using Purex detergent, these new Purex Crystals Aromatherapy, and Purex Crystals dryer sheets. Even though it sucks doing laundry, at least I know my clothes will always come out clean and smelling good.

Would you like to win a coupon for the new Purex Crystals Aromatherapy? Use the rafflecopter widget below this post for your chance.

Review of Bioque C Plus Moisturizer

I am more of a natural girl who goes makeup free most of the time. When I say most of the time, I mean like 99% of the time. The other one percent of the time I may wear lip gloss and/or mascara. But that’s usually if I’m going to be taking a picture that I know about. I don’t usually do the whole powder thing for some reason that I’m not really sure of. One thing I always use is moisturizer. I lotion constantly because I can’t stand dry skin. Dry skin? Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Sometimes, when I get to review a product it comes at just the perfect time. That was the case for this one. I was at the bottom of my jar of moisturizer that I have been using so I was due to have to pick up some more at the store. Instead, I got this in the mail. I am pretty picky about my facial moisturizer because I can break out if the moisturizer is too harsh. I have been using this one for about a week and a half now and I haven’t had any problems with irritability with my skin. Yay! I love the way this smells! To me it smells citrusy, like an orange, specifically. That might not be the same thing you think of when you smell it, but that’s what it smells like to me.

Another thing I like about this product is that it is very light. It feels like it is whipped, if you know what I mean. The consistency is thick but it goes on smoothly. It keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day. It can also be used to keep your skin moisturized overnight. You can use this product under makeup or other moisturizers. However, I only use this one. I prefer not to overdo it on moisturizer, and this one is enough for me.

Some of the pros of using Bioque:

+ It’s not tested on animals

+ It contains no parabens

+ It smells great

+ A little goes a long way

+ It costs $55 on Bioque.com so it might not be in everyone’s budget.

However, if you compare it to the price of a lot of quality moisturizers, I think it’s a good value. You need very little product and the generous 1.75 oz container will last you a long time. I would prefer to spend my money on good quality moisturizers to avoid dreaded dry skin that can creep up on me out of nowhere.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
