Do you like tacos? Do you like Pillsbury Crescent Rolls? Why not use them together for this recipe! This is not my recipe but I’m posting it because I thought you all might enjoy it. It’s a great way to switch up the ol’ tacos that are a staple in many households. Plus, you can often get coupons for the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls here. Seriously. Check out this link for coupons before you make this recipe as you can usually find a coupon for the rolls. It’s easy, it’s frugal, and it’s fun. What’s not to like? So, here it is.
1 lb. hamburger meat
2 cans of Pillsbury crescent rolls
1 taco seasoning packet
1 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 of a small onion, diced
1 tomato, diced
2 cups of lettuce shredded
2 tbsp water
1.) Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown hamburger meat for about 3 minutes, just until it starts to brown a little. Then, add the diced onion and continue cooking until hamburger meat is cooked through and onion is cooked as well. Drain oil from hamburger meat.
2.) Add water and seasoning mix. Mix well. Add 1 cup of the cheddar cheese and mix together well.
3.) Spray cookie sheet with nonstick spray. Then, open cans of Pillsbury crescent rolls and separate into triangles.
4.) Arrange the triangles in a circle on the cookie sheet with the wide ends overlapping and making a circle. There should be a circle that is five to six inches in diameter (across the middle of the circle). The tips of the triangles should be pointing outward.
5.) Put the ground beef mixture on the wide ends of the crescent rolls following the circular shape of the rolls.
6.) Cover the ground beef mixture with the pointy end of the crescent roll, poking the pointy end of the crescent roll underneath.
7.) Bake in 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, keeping an eye on the crescent rolls until they are brown. Remember, the hamburger meat is already done so all you are looking for is for the crescent roll to cook.
8.) Take it out of the oven and add remaining cheese to the ring while it is still hot.
9.) Add your garnishes to the middle: the shredded cheese, the tomato, the jalapenos, sour cream and whatever else you want.
